Missed My Ride

Me in a twilight sleep

I missed my bike ride this morning....Darn. I was waiting for Janet's phone call this morning while I was in a twilight sleep and couldn't hear the phone...so she went on with out me.

I did some haircuts today, one of which was Rebecca. She had me cut it short...it looks real good...she was trying to grow it out long but just could not stand it...I am so tempted to cut mine off short too... it is such a hassle to dry and I always pull it back so it rarely looks good these days....Carol!!!...where are you!?!

I finally went down to vista paints (thanks mom and dad for coming with me) to check out some colors to paint the livingroom & hallway so when we get that done we can lay down some wood floors, then after that we can put in our new cabinets in the kitchen and get that all going and done with....I am going crazy with the house all torn apart....I'm about to go out and rent me an apartment...just for myself....and I'll just come and visit the family and the dogs every once in a while....maybe I'll take the dogs with me. I want all of this done before football season starts....because life will really get crazy...Both Sam and Aaron are playing this fall so we will all be eating, drinking and sleeping football...oh Pleazzzz!!!! I wish the kitchen fairy would just come and help us out.

We had pack meeting out at the park this evening and the boys got to play a bunch of fun games out there and Aaron received a few achievement awards....Good job Aaron!!

Pirates

We spent the last two days at Disneyland and boy am I beat! That was a lot of walking so I will count that as my exercise since I didn't get any biking in. We stood in line for to see Pirates of the Caribbean, it was opening up for the first time since they changed it to go along with the new Pirates Movie. Most people stood in line for anywhere from 2.5 to 5 hours. Not worth it. We only had to wait for about 20 minutes because of Aaron's guest assistance pass. If you had a wheel chair though, you were in trouble because the wait was even longer for them. Yesterday we went on twelve rides. That was pretty good. My favorite ride is Soaring Over Califorina in California Adventure.

This Weekend

This weekend was busy...as usual. We had a nice time at the RS brunch...we had low attendance but we had fun with those who were there. I then had a nice visit with Patty and Cheri and Shauna.....We got to get together more often ladies.

Aaron, Mike and I saw Nacho Libre yesterday with Jack Black....it was soooo funny. It was fun sitting next to Michael, he would just roll up into a ball like a pill bug and just laugh his head off. I want to see it again or buy it when it comes out in video.

I won't be posting any pictures this week because I let Kellie and Scott use my camera. They went on a Caribbean cruise this week with Scott's family. What a fun time! Hopefully they will be sending me some pics from the ship and then I can post some of those. I was told that they will have internet access....so we'll see.

Tonight we went to Central Park for "Concert in the Park". Grandpa Wilson's band played. It was a nice evening and we had a wonderful time....especially Paco and Kirby. We hope to be able to attend all of the concert series.....Good Job...Grandpa!!!

Notice I'm getting pretty fancy here with the colors and the links.... :o)

I Made It.....Just Barely

I rode my bike today and did my old "Orange Juice Ride". It's about eighteen miles round trip with a stop in Seal Beach for orange juice. It was tough and I felt like throwing up about a mile from home....But I did it!!!!

Now I'm just wiped out. I'm laying here in my bed with my laptop dozing in and out of unconsciousness. Joey and Ada came by this morning, Joey wanted a haircut. Then I babysat Ada till her mommy came to pick her up. We went wading in Grandma's little pool, had lunch, dropped Uncle Aaron off at Scouts, picked up some diapers from Vons, dropped Uncle Sam and Brett off at football camp and came home just in time for Mommy to take Ada back home. Phew! What a day!

Here is Ada having me sprinkle water on her foot.

Then she would suck the water off of her big toe....What a nut!!! But she's grandma's little nut. :o)

Family Time At Disneyland

Yesterday we went to Disneyland. Christina took Sam, Nolan, Brett and Vincent early in the morning when it opened. Then she stayed with them until lunch, then she went out and got them McDonald's for lunch and then went home with Ada for a nap. Mike and Aaron and I met up with the boys around 3:30, after Aaron got out of school. Kellie Girl and Rebecca and Amy met up with us too. We had soooo much fun. Here are some pics of us going on Splash Mountain. That is Nolan and Brett with their shirts over their heads...What nuts!

Later Christina and Ada came back and brought Taco Bell with them for the boys....Thank you Christina...You are such a good sister. We all ate our dinner at the pizza place in Tomorrow Land.

We ended the night watching the fireworks....Although it was pretty crowded, we had a wonderful time.

Busy Weekend

Boy! This is the first chance I have gotten to get on the computer since Friday night. Saturday we went to Scott's brother, Mark's wedding. He married Jennifer from Venezuela. They are such a cute couple. All of Scott's sibling are very good looking. (you too Scott) You could really feel the love there in the temple. It was awesome (actually a miracle) to see that Jon & Christina were able to be there. It's neat to see the family rally around them and support and love them. You can just feel the love and it is hard not to be overcome with tears.

Sunday we had a nice Father's Day. Joey, Christina and Ada met us at church and then we came home and met Rebecca and Kelly for lunch. We had our traditional grilled cheese sandwiches made on sour dough bread, smothered in butter with thick slices of cheddar cheese in the middle and grilled to a golden brown. It has such a wonderful crunch. MMMM. Then Ada, Rebecca and I took a fabulous nap in my bed, it was about two hours long....ZZZZZZ

Rebecca and Kelly had to leave to visit with Kelly's family. Mike and the boys and I went with Joey, Christina and Ada to visit with Grandpa Mark and Grandma Shirley. Kellie and Scott met us there. We had a nice barbecue and had lots of fun relaxing in the backyard and ended the night playing dominos and eating Brownie Sundays....MMMMM. Happy Father's Day Dad. I love you.

I Officially Got My Grades

I called to get my grades from last semester and it's official... I got a 4.o GPA. Now I'm afraid to take any more classes in case I mess it up....jk. I also dropped out of my summer online course that I was going to take....I just didn't think that I could do a good job with the kids home, the house torn up and all of the summer temptations... So I'll just start up again in the fall. Kellie said that she would take a class with me so we might take Biology. I know that's a pretty intense course but at least we'll have each other. If she decides not to, I might just take an algebra class, that is something that I feel pretty confident with.

Tonight we went out to dinner with the Edwards and ate at Ariba's in Fountain Valley. We had a nice dinner and then we went down to Seal Beach for a walk and Cold Stones. How am I ever going to lose weight if I keep this up. I was too tire to ride my bike this morning after all of that swimming that I did yesterday. I could hardly move when I woke up. Oh well... Maybe tomorrow.

Sam's Last Day As A Freshman

This morning was the last time for me to take Sam to school as a Freshman. He liked his first year of high school but is glad for summer to be here. It just floors me how fast the years have flown by, I remember bringing him home from the hospital. It was kind of bitter sweet. I remember holding him in my arms while they wheeled me out thinking how glad I was to be taking my baby home but how fresh was the memory of having to leave the hospital the previous year with empty arms. I have always called Samuel "my rainbow after the storm". He is a wonderful young man and I am happy to know him.

A Day At The Club

Boy! Am I exhausted! I rode my bike at the beach this morning with Janet and the wind was blowing pretty hard so that was quite a workout.

Then I met Kellie and Mom at the club. Kellie hit some balls with Grandma Shirley and then we all went for a swim. Kellie and I swam for about an hour then they started up with this aquacise class so we decided to give it a try. It was fun and I got quite a work out.

Aqua-Bully

We were having a good time until this old cranky guy decided to start yelling at all of the old folks who were chatting while they were taking the class. He just got all ugly and crazy and telling them how disrespectful they were for talking while exercising. What a jerk to bully those poor oldies just for visiting with each other. The funny thing is that I was taking a class like this there at the club about three or four years ago and I remember that same guy yelling and Janet and I for chatting while we were exercising... Boy, Janet just gave it to him. You don't mess with Janet...I wish she were there today.

Anyway....We met up with Grandpa Mark at the Golf Club for lunch...MMMM. We had a nice time.

Cashew Chicken Salad on a Croissant

I know....I'm obsessing... But this was a really good sandwich and I just had to take a picture.

After my bike ride with Janet, Grandma Shirley and I went to visit Joey and Ada and went swimming with them and Kellie.
It's so weird, I remember so vividly when Joey was Ada's age and I would take him swimming at the community pool in the Green Valley housing tract where we lived in Fountain Valley.
Look....Now he's the dad.
After we were swimming for a while, Rebecca came home for lunch and came out to the pool to say hi. Wow! I got to see all three kids in one afternoon......I love it.
What a smile...if you click on this picture, you will see that right lower eye tooth that is just trying to poke through. I just can't get enough of this sweet little angel.

After spending the afternoon swimming I dropped Aaron off at scouts, went grocery shopping, came home, put the groceries away, picked Aaron and Zack up from scouts, visited Grandma and Grandpa Wilson, came home and make dinner....steak, salad, beans, burnt garlic toast (oops, I did that two nights in a row, Aaron says I'm fired but then reinstated my position after I told him that he would now have to do my job.), cleaned up, took Paco for a walk, played on the computer (while eating Ben & Jerry's half baked ice cream, MMMM) and am now getting ready to go to bed.....Now there.....that was my day.

Ooh sooo sweet!

Boy, we live in paradise. What a wonderful day. It's so nice to ride down here everyday when others pay a lot of money to come visit and vacation. On days like this all I have to say is... Life's a Beach.

We made it down to the Pier and are now the new poster children for Jamba Juice's fresh squeezed orange juice....MMMM.....so sweet and cold and refreshing!!!!
I have to say that this is now my new favorite orange juice stop. I hate to say that I like it better that Cinnamon Productions, but I do.

Oh Kirby Baby!!

Poor Kirby ended up walking around the house this way for about 15 minutes before I could rescue him. Aaron put a pair of Rebecca's Jewish American Princess sunglasses on him and just let him walk around the house like that for a while. Actually, I think that Kirby liked it, it made him feel superior to Paco who only gets to parade around the house in a fez.

Yeah! Dad's Home

Yay! Mike's home from his two day SWAT training out at Camp Pendleton! I sure missed him. Here he is in his SWAT uniform standing next to his new baby.

I think that he is getting over the SWAT thing. He's feeling a little old for the job. We'll see how long he lasts. He's been on the team for over eight years now.

We Made It!!

Wahoo!! We left my house around 8:30am and made it to Seal Beach for orange juice at our favorite stop, Cinnamon Productions, soon after. I haven't been there in such a long time. I'm so glad that my back is finally feeling well enough to get on my bike. I'm still not up to par but I'm on my way! Eventually I would like to make our usual 18 mile Orange Juice Ride. (This one that we did today is about 12 miles).

I can't believe that I am actually posting these pictures. I'm hoping that it will be incentive to keep up the exercise and eat better to lose the weight that I gained these past few months. Janet's looking real good though!! Keep up the good work Girl!!!

Family Night

Last night the family got together for B-B-Q hamburgers thanks to dad. I just love it when we are all together. The weather was perfect. Later we had a FHE lesson given by Rebecca. She read a story to us about 9/11. It's amazing that it seems so long ago. Time goes by so fast.

Later we made Yummy Malts for dessert and watched videos from our trip to the river this last Memorial Day weekend.

Here is a picture of Aaron right after closing ceremonies on Saturday for this baseball season. In his hot little hands he is holding his second place trophy for the Minor A division. He had a fun time this season playing catcher and outfielder. He has also gotten real good at bunting. Tonight we had our last game. It was the Tournament of Champions. We got beat pretty bad by the Costa Mesa Pirates, but the boys did real well. Aaron made an amazing catch out in left field and scored one of the four points that we made. The final score....4 to 11.

Here is Aaron attempting to bunt.
Here is Aaron playing catcher.
