Jr. All American to NFL

Aaron just completed his first week of Football...I guess you can call it Hell Week. The coaches really kicked their butts. Lots and lots of sit ups and push ups. Aaron complained a little to me after one of the practices but he stuck with it while he was out on the field and he didn't tell me that he wanted to quit...so I guess I can say that it went well. It's just hard to see these coaches making men out of little boys...but I guess that is just a mother's perspective.

Happy Birthday Michael!!

Today is Michael's Birthday....#4?...He's like cheese...get's better with time.(or is that smellier with time?)jk. We had a wonderful time today. We spent the afternoon and into the evening at H.B. Central park. We had a nice picnic with our friends and family. We also brought our bikes. It was real nice because it wasn't crowded at all. We stayed until we couldn't see anymore because of the dark. Everytime we have a picnic I always say "We should do this more often" and we should. Especially to get out of our hot houses this summer. The breeze was Wonderful!

Happy Birthday Grandma Virginia!!!

#88. We had a wonderful time at the Westminster Mall food court celebrating Grandma Virginia's 88th birthday. She had a hamburger from McDonald...her favorite, I think that she must be related to Whimpy. (Does that statement date me?) Anyway...Happy Birthday Grandma...I love you!

Grueling! (sp?)

Okay...I have driven about 1500 miles in the last three days. I drove up into San Diego county mountains to pick up the Scouts from their week long scout camp...that was about a 7 hour drive round trip... then Rebecca wanted to go up to phoenix to check out an apartment. She HAD to go on Sunday... nobody could go with her so she was going to go by herself... I just couldn't have that... so I went with her... Seven hours up on Sunday and seven hours back on Monday....Boy... that was crazy. We had fun though. I think that we found the place that they will live in for the next few months...I don't think that they could live in there much longer than that because it is soooo small....550 square feet. I think that going out there will be a fun adventure for them. I will just miss them so much. I had a bunch of pictures to share but I left my camera in Rebecca's car... so who knows when I'll get that back.

Concert in the Park

Today after my Sunday nap, Aaron and I went with Janet, Kristi and Shane to Huntington Central Park for the Concert in the Park. Today was the LAPD Jazz Band...I loved it. I'm always sad when the music stops.

Scout Camp

Yesterday Janet and I helped drive Sam's scout troop and their bikes up to scout camp. It's at Lost Valley down in San Diego County. It was quite a drive. Especially the part where we were off roading for about eleven miles. My stomach muscles are sore today from trying to keep my body from bouncing all over the car. Good thing that I was driving a 4x4. Our plans were to drop the boys and the bikes off and then head out to Pechanga for the buffet lunch and then to go shopping in old town Temecula....that didn't work out... (Here is the line of cars trying to get into camp)
the only road in and out is very narrow and we were stuck waiting for all of the scouts (800) to arrive before we could leave. Needless to say we starved and didn't get to go shopping...we finally got to eat at about 8 o'clock and got home about 10:30pm....the good news is that we get to do it again next Saturday to pick them up....oh well....at least I know what I'm in for.

Home Improvement

Here are some photos of the progress that we are making. Actually...we are living in total chaos and it's gonna get worse before it gets better.

A Day At The Beach

I am sooooo tired

We spent the day working on the house...I am exhausted...I took some pictures of our progress but I'm too tired to post them so I'll do that tomorrow. We painted the ceilings in the family room and hallway and then we did the walls. We also started to apply the painters tape to the french windows....that makes sixty panes of windows to tape up....tedious....my legs are killing me so I'm going to bed....good nite.....

Put some clothes on!!!!

Okay....I was going over to Joey and Christina's to pick up Ada for the day and when we were in the car ready to leave, I saw this guy walking out to his car with his shirt off and his pants sagging wayyyyy low....I mean you could see his kuliku (behind). I though to myself....oh my gosh...he's going to lose his pants right in front of my grandbaby!! I then remembered that I had my camera....do I dare?...I wonder if he will see me....he was actually facing the other way when I aimed my camera and just as I clicked, he turned and faced me.....Ahhhh...I quickly put down my camera and drove off...I thought that he looked a little familiar...but I just couldn't place the face...

Ouch!!!

This morning Janet and I went on our Seal Beach ride and got orange juice at Cinnamon Productions. On the way there Janet fell off of her bike or rather crashed. A big orange traffic cone jumped right in front of her and when she hit her breaks she went head over the handle bars then landed on her knees. She got a little scraped up and bruised but being the trooper that she is, got right back up on her bike and finished her ride. She may be a little sore tomorrow so we are going to take a break from riding tomorrow and go to the beach. I know if it were me that crashed....I would really be in a world of hurt. Hang in there Janet and I hope you feel better quick....keep taking the Ibuprofen.

Sam Visits Dr. Pellman

We haven't seen Doctor Pellman in so long. He seems to be doing fine...He is now a proud grandpa of three. Sam needed a physical for Scout Camp...He's in the 70 percentile, 152.5 lbs and almost 5'11"... it was just yesterday when he was 7lbs. 5oz... We saw a new mother there with her four day old baby....soooo sweet...It's so hard to believe that they were ever that small....

Sam passed with flying colors and is proud to say that he has better that 20/20 vision. He did have to have a shot...two as a matter of fact...I happened to have my camera with me and embarrassed him by taking his picture...So he had to be brave and not cry (jk).
First the right arm....

Then the left.

Dig that Tweety Bird Bandaid...

Quite a scare

Saturday morning I got a call from Joey saying that Christina was having some weird symptoms...She was losing her sight and she was having numbness in one of her hands, arms and face. I had them call the Doctor who sent them to the emergency. They admitted her and ran a bunch of tests. They came out normal and the baby was doing well...They concluded that she was having a severe migrane and kept her over night to monitor and then sent her home yesterday with some restrictions. She gave us a good scare but she and the baby are okay.

Ada stayed the night with us and slept in our bed (big mistake) she ended up kicking and head butting us all night. But other than that we had a wonderful time. She found another pair of favorite shoes and walk around the house with them for a while. She was sooo cute, she would walk in one direction and turn her head back to watch the back of the heals as she went.

Continued from previous post

Sam listening to his ipod

"Mom! Leave me alone! "

The boys had a fun time and I had fun watching them. Sam and Brett found a couple of little boys to start a game of two hand touch while Aaron was having a blast riding the waves with Nolan and David.

What a Day!

This morning Janet and I packed up our bikes on my bike carrier and brought them down to Belmont Shores in Long Beach.

We rode the bike trail all the way up to the Queen Mary (click on picture to see which one is the Queen Mary) and back, it was quite an adventure, when we came back to find the car....we couldn't. We were a little disoriented, I remembered that one of the cross streets was Division St. and Janet remembered the other street was Santa Ana St. but we still had a hard time finding it...I guess you could say that we were having a senior moment (I'm not sure that we qualify) although Janet is blonde.

When we finally got our bikes back on the rack and were in the car ready to take off, I realized that I had a citation on my windshield....Darn it! I guess I didn't notice the warning sign as I entered the neighborhood.....$39.....street sweeping day....I hope that Long Beach is happy that we came along! Despite the little difficulties, we did have a nice time... the day was beautiful and we didn't let it ruin it for us....we just took ourselves down to OUR beach (Huntington, just north of the pier).

The boys had a fun time and I had fun watching them. Sam and Brett found a couple of little boys to start a game of two hand touch while Aaron was having a blast riding the waves with Nolan and David.

I'm trying to post some more pictures of the beach but for some reason...blogger isn't letting me so I'll try again later......

Laundry Day

I got to ride my bike this morning with Janet and our friend Kaye who was down visiting from Saint George. We had a nice ride and stopped off at Jamba Juice for Orange Juice. It started out overcast but cleared up beautifully by the time we started heading back. Michael bought me a bike carrier that holds up to four bikes so now we can pack up our bikes and head off to farther adventures.

When I got home I was greeted by Ada and Christina. I love laundry day! I really missed my Ada (Christina too.) They were away last week in New Mexico. Ada just cracks me up, she has a special pair of my shoes that she love to walk around the house in and hear the click clacking on my beautiful cement floors. She can walk way better in those shoes than I can. Later we had Alex from next door come over to visit. He just loves Ada and they play so well together. When ever they see each other they get all excited and hug each other...they're soooo cute.

Get a load of those heels!

Here is a picture of Aaron and the Puppies reading before bed time. They all three share the bed. I know I would have never allowed this with my older kids...you know...dogs and kids don't belong in the same bed....but I guess I'm just getting lax in my old age. Besides....they are soooo cute.

Sam came home from football practice this evening with what he thinks is a broken nose. It looked very crooked but I think that it is just bruised and swollen. We have a doctor's appointment on Monday for a physical... so we'll see then.

I Know It's Late

I know it's late. I can tell because I just wrote this whole explanation of what we did today and all of the fun that we had at the Disneyland parking structure to watch the fireworks show....and blah blah blah... and then I some how lost it so I'm going to forget about it and just show you these pictures from the cruise Kellie and Scott went on. They got to play with monkeys and sting rays and they just had a wonderful time. I'll post more later...when it's not so late.

Ian's Home!!!

We just got home from the beach, I love the beach but I hate that dirty feet feeling when you get home. I can hardly wait to get into the shower! We were at a beach party for Ian, he just came home from his mission in the West Indies. He looks great and we are excited to hear his home coming talk in church soon.

We are starting to work on the house again,YAY! I'm having a hard time figuring out what color paint I should use, I went back to vista paints today to get two more samples....no luck....I have four different colors on my wall and all of them look yuckky! Its either to dark, too light, too gray, too pink, too orange, I just want a nice light tan. Michael patched up a bunch of holes in the walls and fixed and plastered some of the dry wall.....we'll try again on Monday.

Kellie and Scott should be coming home from their cruise tomorrow night, I can't wait to hear how it all went and see the pictures. I also can't wait to get my camera back.

Joey and Christina and Ada went to New Mexico for Christian's family reunion on her Dad's side. Christina and Ada drove with Uncle Jessie and Joey took a flight up their that left this morning. He has to work so he can't stay the whole time. I hope all goes well.

Oh...It's my turn to get in the shower...gotta go....
