Tomorrow's The Big Day!!!

I know it's late so really by the time anyone sees this post it will be today (Thursday) but it's the big day. My first grandson will be born. They will induce labor early in the morning so hopefully by the afternoon "baby boo-boo" will be here. That's his name for now since I'm not sure if his parents are totally set on a name. I'm sooo excited and I'm hoping to be in the delivery room when this blessed event occurs.

It's A Girl!!!!!!

I went with Kellie and Scott to their ultrasound appointment today and it was soooo cool...the baby was moving around... and posing for us. I think that she was playing a game of soccer in there...(like mother, like daughter) anyway... it was actually a college for ultrasound techs. They spent a lot of time with Kellie and we got to see alot. They had a hard time trying to figure out the sex because her legs were close together but the instructor confirmed it...it's a girl. Kellie is sooooo excited, Scott too. I think that it is wonderful....between Joey and Kellie, I can have a blast spending my wad in the little boy's section AND the little girl's section....Life is good!

Uncle Sam & Ada

Today we had Ada over for the day....what a treat...she is so fun and she just loves her Uncle Sam. Just as we turned into the tract from picking her up she realized where she was going and just shouted out "SAM!" She recognized the neighborhood and knew she was going to see her Uncle Sam. They watched Aladdin and ate lunch together....grilled cheese sandwiches...mmm.

Queen For A Day

Grandma Virginia came over for a day of pampering and beautification. Mom and Aunt Maddy and Kelllie joined in on the fun. It's amazing that we all fit in that cluttered garage of ours. We had a wonderful time playing beauty shop and visiting.

This beauty is genetic...don't you think?

The Happiest Place On Earth

Today I took Aaron and a friend to Disneyland. Now I know that it is supposed to be the happiest place on earth but I wasn't too sure at first. Aaron has a noisy tic disorder (Tourette Syndrome) so when we go to Disneyland we have a pass so that we don't have to wait in the long lines. Well today his tics were giving him a little grief...he was ticcing every 2 to 10 seconds...and his main tic was this high pitched screech. When he gets excited, his tics become a little more intense so he was excited of course because he was at Disneyland and we were just coming off the Raiders of the Lost Ark ride when this lady who was walking off just ahead of us turned around and told Aaron to " Shut the *&@# up!!".... he just melted...his heart was broken and he was doing all he could to not cry. At first it made me angry and I wanted to lash out but I just said "he can't help it." They just kept walking ahead of us and didn't say anything else. I felt real bad for Aaron but told him to not worry about it...they just don't know...so we decided to go to "Pirates of the Caribbean"... I thought for sure that would cheer him up...well.... all was going well until half way through, the ride broke down. We were stuck there right in front of the "brides for sale" part of the ride for half an hour. I was trying to distract the boys by having them count the pirates, then the animals, then the lanterns etc... finally, the ride started up again...we got to the point where we were to be the next boat to unload when "darn it", it broke down again...we waited there for another 15 minutes, all the while Aaron is ticcing like crazy. We finally decided to climb off anyway, they told us to sit down and wait but we just couldn't and climbed off anyway...that just pushed Aaron to his limit. He just started to cry and wanted to go home...He said "I hate Disneyland!"...poor guy....I told him okay...but got him to go on the Thunder Mountain Railway....that was fun and we went on it again... then the Matterhorn... then Space mountain...and we finished up the day with Autopia....By the end of the day we were finally having fun...thank goodness !

Sam's Getting Ready!

Here is Sam after being issued his practice uniform and gear. He is getting real excited for this season to start. He is starting on JV as tail back and corner...(I'm not exactly sure what that means other than it's fun to watch him, especially when he carries the ball) and he will be suiting up for special teams on Varsity. Go Sam go!

Our Front Deck

How nice it is to start a project and pretty much finish it in one day. We took a break from the inside of the house...packing and painting and all that and decided to beautify the entry way... what happened was as we were packing stuff from our family room, getting it ready to paint, we were trying to find a spot to put all of the boxes....so we decided to put them in the back patio...so we needed to find a place to put the patio furniture...so we decided to put it in the front...but... it was all gross out there...weeds and junk. So we cleaned it out and laid some old plywood down and put the furniture out there. Well, it looks so good that I decided to go to Home Depot and buy an umbrella for shade and protection....well....that looked even nicer, except the old plywood looked bad so Michael insisted that we take a break from the family room and put down a deck.....a few hours later...Voila! Isn't it wonderful. And to think...it only took a day. I love those kind of projects...not those multi year wreck the house and take forever kind. Oh well, back to family room.

Opening Ceremonies

Today (all day) was dedicated to FOOTBALL. My life is not my own...it now belongs to FOOTBALL. Every week night and every Saturday for the next few months will be set aside for FOOTBALL. And some of the days and nights will be double duty FOOTBALL as both Aaron and Sam are playing FOOTBALL...not to mention NFL Sunday and Monday Night FOOTBALL and College FOOTBALL on Saturdays. UGH can you smell the testosterone?

Any way...After Opening Ceremonies, Aaron played in his first scrimmage today against the Garden Grove team...he did real well and had a great time...after that we went to a pool party and BBQ for all of the players and their families... after that we walked to the park and watched them play "capture the flag" then we walked back to the pool and watched them swim again. I got a lot of sun and now I think that I am catching a cold...I keep sneezing and I have a sinus headache...so I'm going to be now...g'nite.

Christina's Baby Shower

Tonight Kellie and Rebecca threw a wonderful baby shower for Christina....the food was yummy and the company was superb. We played fun games and watched Christina open up some real nice gifts. We were all trying to come up with baby boy names as Joey & Christina haven't settled on any yet. I just know that what ever they name him, I will love it because he's my grandson.

Thank you all for coming and making it a fantastic evening!

How Can You Resist?

Although she's not even two yet, I just can't imagine what life was like before her. Grandmotherhood is really your reward for not killing your children. There is nothing like it....that I have found. It makes me think of how my grandmothers must have felt about me and it makes me love them all the more.

Kellie, Rebecca and Christina had a garage sale here at our house this weekend....we had a lot of fun...they made enough pocket change to go have a shopping spree at Walmart later that afternoon...that place is dangerous though... I went there earlier this week just to kill time while Aaron was at football practice....well....a hundred dollars later......Yikes!!! I guess I won't be doing that again for a while.

Poor Rebecca

Poor Rebecca got her wisdom teeth extracted yesterday. She stayed here over night so that Mommy could take care of her. She had a rough day today...very nauseous and vomiting all day today... hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for her. The doctor had us put tea bags in her mouth to stop the bleeding.

Ada's 1st Haircut

Today Joey and Christina brought Ada by for her first haircut. She didn't want to sit in the chair...she want grandma to hold her...not mom...not dad.....grandma. So I had to put her on the counter in front of the miror and sing songs to her to distract her. We took a couple of inches off...her hair still dried curly...what a sweet princess she is.
