We Are Multiplying and Replenishing the Earth

Well...we will be the grandparents of 4 by this September. I just can't believe how fast this has all come about. I had 3 babies in four and a half years and my grandbabies are coming at the rate of 4 babies in 3 years...does that make sense? It's way late at night and I am real tired.

Rebecca and Kelly are so excited for their new addition to come. The way they are planning things, they will be in their brand new house in May or June and ready to fill up the four bedrooms out there in Arizona.

Kellie went to the doctor today and says she is getting close. I am just so excited for her and Scott. They still have not decided on a name yet but they still have a couple of weeks.

I babysat Calvin and Ada tonight....What a treat! I am exhausted though so I had better head off to bed.

G'nite.

Do You Get the Internet in Heaven?

One of the saddest days in my life happened last week when our baby sister Patty passed away all of a sudden. It was totally unexpected and quite a shock. She was my blogging partner and my inspiration in going back to school. I bet that if there is internet access in heaven, she is right now sitting at her heavenly computer (one that never breaks down and always has enough memory and is never gets bogged down with unwanted spyware) with a Snickers and a Diet Coke, blogging her little heart out and sending pictures of Stella to all of our departed ancestors. I will really miss her and her fantastic sense of humor, but I know that she is home at last with her beloved sweetheart Joe.....And Patty, if you are able to access my blog...know that I love you and miss you.

What a Doll Baby!!!

Yesterday was laundry day and Christina and I took the babies to the mall to get their pictures taken. Ada didn't want to cooperate so they just took pictures of Calvin. They were all so cute and I was bummed that we couldn't get them all so we came home and set up our own little studio (a white sheet draped over the stroller) and we got this cute little picture on our own....Isn't he sweet!?!

Happy Birthday Grandma Sherri (boy that sounds weird)

Okay...I know that this isn't the greatest picture of Ada & me but look how good Great Grandma Shirley looks! And look how chubby my sweet angel-boy is. This was a great birthday for me. I got to see Becca in the morning and Kellie came over with Scott and made me a fantastic Birthday dinner. Joey, Christina and the babies came too bringing a yummy cake. Great-grandma Shirley and Great-grandpa Mark came by later for dessert.

Football Season is Almost Over!!

This Saturday was Aaron's last game. It was a play off game but they lost. It is kind of bitter sweet. He cried when it was over but we look forward to the banquet in a couple of weeks. I am very proud of Aaron. He did not miss a single practice, which I don't think that any other player on the team can claim that. He worked very, very hard and didn't complain (pretty shocking I know). The first year of football is hard because you have to learn so much and work so hard but yet you don't get much play time during the games.....GOOD JOB AARON!!! (He is #58 in the black)

Sam's last game of the season is this Thursday against the first place team, Esparanza. It would take a miracle I know, but GOOD LUCK SAM!!!

Congratulations Janet On Your New Ride!!!

So it's eleven o'clock at night and I am up doing my homework....all of a sudden the telephone rings. I'm thinking "who would be calling me this late at night?" The voice on the other end says "Are you up?"
"Yes...."
"Are you dressed?"
"Yes..."
"Walk out to the front of your house."
"Okay....."
This is what I see...out there in the dark.

I walk up a little closer and am blinded by this HUGE smile.

A picture tells a thousand words...

Yep...that's Janet with her Brand Spankin New, Electric Blue PT Cruiser!

Woohoo! We have places to go...people to see...things do to....and Janet's driving!!

Happy Halloween!!

Kellie and baby LuLu dressed up as a basketball player for Halloween...What a cute costume...if she were any further along she would have had to make it a beach ball...jk ;o)

I hope that you all had a safe and sane Halloween!

A Drive-By Visit

We were very luck to have a "Drive-By" visit from Grandma Virginia on laundry day. I know I call it laundry day but really it should be called "Grandma's day of lovin'" since I get to hug and squeeze and kiss and rock and dote on my babies. Anyway... as I was saying, my mom and Aunt Maddy stopped by with Great-Great-Grandma Virginia. She was too weak to get out of the car but we still had a nice visit from the car. She got to meet her latest great-great grandson, Calvin.
What a blessing it is to have our Grandma so near to us. We need to keep her in our prayers these days as she is in the hospital right now due to difficulty eating. They just put a feeding tube in her stomach so maybe she will start to improve soon.

Deep into Football Season

We are still head deep into football. This is a picture of Sam playing in last weeks game against Fountain Valley High School (JV). Although we haven't won too many games, it is sure fun to watch Sam play as though he is Reggie Bush ;o) Don't you just love that stiff arm? He even did the "Bush Push" in that game. Tonight he will be dressing out for Varsity against Los Alamitos and Friday he will be playing against their JV team.

What a Nice Little Get-A-Way

Here is the view that we had from our "condo" that we stayed in last week. It was sooooo beautiful!! The condo and the view. Michael won a three day, two night stay at the Newport Coast Marriott resorts. It was a two bedroom, two bathroom full on condo. We had such a nice time. I really needed the break. It just so happened that we were celebrating our 30 year anniversary of our first date (October 8th).

We brought in yummy food from the Cheesecake Factory the first night and ate it in our little dining room.

The next morning we took off for the coast. We drove down to Cresent Bay and parked and took a nice walk on the beach...the weather was so perfect....they said it was supposed to rain but instead we had the most gorgeous weather. We even saw a seal out by the rocks.
(if you click on this picture, you can see his little head poking up)

After the beach we went shopping at the Crystal Cove Prominade and had lunch. We then had to jump back into reality for a while to see Sam play football out in Paramount. (they tied 21-21) But since we were still on vacation, we just said good-bye to everyone when it was over and went back out to our little adventure. We stopped off at the boat show in Long Beach on our way back to Newport...then had dinner at El Torito...mmmm

We had such a nice time, it was hard to come back to my real life in Huntington Beach...I'm not complaining, I have a wonderful life...it was just nice not having to worry about doing the things that need to be done and just doing what we wanted to...anyway, I would just like to thank my Mom and Dad for taking over with the boys and the dogs and the football practices and the driving them here and there and all of that stuff. Thanks for all you do... I love you!

Update

Finally we have had a winning weekend...whahoo!! Sam's JV team finally had their first win...it was against Colton...you may be asking "where the heck is Colton?"....well...I don't know for sure. I just know that it took the bus over three hours to get there through all of the afternoon traffic. The game was originally supposed to be a home game on Thursday, then they changed it to Saturday...Then at the last minute they changed it to Friday night out in Colton. Mike and I weren't very happy because we weren't able to go with such short notice. The sad thing was that Samuel was the star of the game. He scored the touchdown and tackled their quarterback for a two point safety. The final score was 9-8. I'm trying to find someone who video-taped the game so we can see Sam's plays.

Aaron's team also won their first game this Saturday. They played the Garden Grove team and won 13-0. Since this is Aaron's first year playing football, he doesn't get to play the whole game...just one quarter....but he is learning a lot and having fun being a part of the team.

Things are so Crazy!!!

I hardly have any time to post, I had back to school nite at Sam's school. It's so wierd to be back on the Marina campus...some of the teachers that I had are still there.

I had a surprise visit from Christina and the babies last week...it was so nice. That little Calvin is soooo cute. I can hardly stand it. I just can't get enough grandma kisses in.

Missing my Kids :o(

Rebecca and Kelly packed up this weekend and left early this morning with all of their belongings and headed out to Arizona... they are planning to start a life out there with Kelly applying to the police departments and both wanting to continue their educations. If things work out...they will buy a house out there and start their family...all while I am here in California...I am happy for them but my heart still hurts...I miss them already.

Aaron's Tooth

My Tooth!! on Vimeo

Aaron wanted me to pull out his tooth but he was afraid that it would hurt....I know, big old tuff guy with his football gear on and he's afraid of a little tooth pulling...anyway...as you'll see...there was nothing to worry about.

Dreaming of Grandma

Here are some photos of Calvin that I took last Friday when he was eight days old. He must have been having sweet dreams because he kept smiling while he slept. He is soooo adorable... I can't believe that he is already going to be 2 weeks old on Thursday. I guess time flies when your having fun.

First Day of School!!!

Aaron is officially in the fifth grade...his teacher seems to be real nice and lucky for him she's nice to look at....

I haven't been able to blog too much lately and even right now I am exhausted. It's football every bleepin' night... tomorrow is Sam's first game and on Saturday is Aaron's. I think that the practices will slow down to maybe three nights a week (I hope) anyway....I'll try and post Aaron's first day of school picture that I took this morning later...I'm just too tired...

Tomorrow's The Big Day!!!

I know it's late so really by the time anyone sees this post it will be today (Thursday) but it's the big day. My first grandson will be born. They will induce labor early in the morning so hopefully by the afternoon "baby boo-boo" will be here. That's his name for now since I'm not sure if his parents are totally set on a name. I'm sooo excited and I'm hoping to be in the delivery room when this blessed event occurs.

It's A Girl!!!!!!

I went with Kellie and Scott to their ultrasound appointment today and it was soooo cool...the baby was moving around... and posing for us. I think that she was playing a game of soccer in there...(like mother, like daughter) anyway... it was actually a college for ultrasound techs. They spent a lot of time with Kellie and we got to see alot. They had a hard time trying to figure out the sex because her legs were close together but the instructor confirmed it...it's a girl. Kellie is sooooo excited, Scott too. I think that it is wonderful....between Joey and Kellie, I can have a blast spending my wad in the little boy's section AND the little girl's section....Life is good!

Uncle Sam & Ada

Today we had Ada over for the day....what a treat...she is so fun and she just loves her Uncle Sam. Just as we turned into the tract from picking her up she realized where she was going and just shouted out "SAM!" She recognized the neighborhood and knew she was going to see her Uncle Sam. They watched Aladdin and ate lunch together....grilled cheese sandwiches...mmm.

Queen For A Day

Grandma Virginia came over for a day of pampering and beautification. Mom and Aunt Maddy and Kelllie joined in on the fun. It's amazing that we all fit in that cluttered garage of ours. We had a wonderful time playing beauty shop and visiting.

This beauty is genetic...don't you think?

The Happiest Place On Earth

Today I took Aaron and a friend to Disneyland. Now I know that it is supposed to be the happiest place on earth but I wasn't too sure at first. Aaron has a noisy tic disorder (Tourette Syndrome) so when we go to Disneyland we have a pass so that we don't have to wait in the long lines. Well today his tics were giving him a little grief...he was ticcing every 2 to 10 seconds...and his main tic was this high pitched screech. When he gets excited, his tics become a little more intense so he was excited of course because he was at Disneyland and we were just coming off the Raiders of the Lost Ark ride when this lady who was walking off just ahead of us turned around and told Aaron to " Shut the *&@# up!!".... he just melted...his heart was broken and he was doing all he could to not cry. At first it made me angry and I wanted to lash out but I just said "he can't help it." They just kept walking ahead of us and didn't say anything else. I felt real bad for Aaron but told him to not worry about it...they just don't know...so we decided to go to "Pirates of the Caribbean"... I thought for sure that would cheer him up...well.... all was going well until half way through, the ride broke down. We were stuck there right in front of the "brides for sale" part of the ride for half an hour. I was trying to distract the boys by having them count the pirates, then the animals, then the lanterns etc... finally, the ride started up again...we got to the point where we were to be the next boat to unload when "darn it", it broke down again...we waited there for another 15 minutes, all the while Aaron is ticcing like crazy. We finally decided to climb off anyway, they told us to sit down and wait but we just couldn't and climbed off anyway...that just pushed Aaron to his limit. He just started to cry and wanted to go home...He said "I hate Disneyland!"...poor guy....I told him okay...but got him to go on the Thunder Mountain Railway....that was fun and we went on it again... then the Matterhorn... then Space mountain...and we finished up the day with Autopia....By the end of the day we were finally having fun...thank goodness !

Sam's Getting Ready!

Here is Sam after being issued his practice uniform and gear. He is getting real excited for this season to start. He is starting on JV as tail back and corner...(I'm not exactly sure what that means other than it's fun to watch him, especially when he carries the ball) and he will be suiting up for special teams on Varsity. Go Sam go!

Our Front Deck

How nice it is to start a project and pretty much finish it in one day. We took a break from the inside of the house...packing and painting and all that and decided to beautify the entry way... what happened was as we were packing stuff from our family room, getting it ready to paint, we were trying to find a spot to put all of the boxes....so we decided to put them in the back patio...so we needed to find a place to put the patio furniture...so we decided to put it in the front...but... it was all gross out there...weeds and junk. So we cleaned it out and laid some old plywood down and put the furniture out there. Well, it looks so good that I decided to go to Home Depot and buy an umbrella for shade and protection....well....that looked even nicer, except the old plywood looked bad so Michael insisted that we take a break from the family room and put down a deck.....a few hours later...Voila! Isn't it wonderful. And to think...it only took a day. I love those kind of projects...not those multi year wreck the house and take forever kind. Oh well, back to family room.

Opening Ceremonies

Today (all day) was dedicated to FOOTBALL. My life is not my own...it now belongs to FOOTBALL. Every week night and every Saturday for the next few months will be set aside for FOOTBALL. And some of the days and nights will be double duty FOOTBALL as both Aaron and Sam are playing FOOTBALL...not to mention NFL Sunday and Monday Night FOOTBALL and College FOOTBALL on Saturdays. UGH can you smell the testosterone?

Any way...After Opening Ceremonies, Aaron played in his first scrimmage today against the Garden Grove team...he did real well and had a great time...after that we went to a pool party and BBQ for all of the players and their families... after that we walked to the park and watched them play "capture the flag" then we walked back to the pool and watched them swim again. I got a lot of sun and now I think that I am catching a cold...I keep sneezing and I have a sinus headache...so I'm going to be now...g'nite.

Christina's Baby Shower

Tonight Kellie and Rebecca threw a wonderful baby shower for Christina....the food was yummy and the company was superb. We played fun games and watched Christina open up some real nice gifts. We were all trying to come up with baby boy names as Joey & Christina haven't settled on any yet. I just know that what ever they name him, I will love it because he's my grandson.

Thank you all for coming and making it a fantastic evening!
