June Gloom

It has been so nice to have Christina and the kids down to visit. It's just not summer without a visit to the beach. Even though the marine layer was looming over us, we had a wonderful time searching for sea shells and playing Frisbee with Boston. 

Long Time No See!!!

I know that it has been a very long time since I have been here on my blog. Life just happens on before you know it, three years go by. I could make all of the excuses in the world, but I'll spare you.

So today while the kids were hanging out here with Grandma, we went out back to gather eggs.... this is what we found. Esther's chicken, Fluffy, lays these pretty green eggs. But this time we found this HUGE egg. OUCH! Experience has taught me that there are usually two yolks in an egg this size.

 Sure enough, we cracked it open and out came the twins...

Our Trip to Ketchikan, Alaska, ( days 5&6)

Day 5

After Church on Sunday, Kelly drove us down to the same waterfall that we saw on day one. The water is coming down much faster and harder now because it was raining all day. We were getting wet from the car.









Day 6



This is the fantastic bakery that Rebecca will be working at. We went there everyday. Needless to say, I will be working hard to get rid of the extra pounds that were a result of indulging here.

It's always been a dream of mine to open a bakery. I know it takes a lot of hard work and time, possibly more than I am willing to give.





This is Maddie's new school. It looks like a wonderful place. The student teacher ratio is 16:1. Puts our schools to shame.

Our Trip to Ketchikan, Alaska (days 1&2)

Day One



There are waterfalls all over the island. This one is just on the side of the road.

Okay...this bagel was sooooo good. Becca and I shared it. We got it Sweet Mermaids, the bakery in downtown Ketchikan.





Downtown Ketchikan, where you'll find all the cruise ships docked.





Creek Street. The entire street and buildings hover over the water.


I guess this salmon served it's purpose, laid it's eggs, and became bear food.


Day Two


James met this darling little sweetheart, decked out for rain.

The cruise ships sail by every night. It's fun when they go by in the dark because they are lit up like a Christmas tree.
